1921 Friedrich Dürrenmatt is born on Janury, 5th in Konolfingen, a small town in canton Bern, as son of a protestant pastor.

1983 Friedrich Dürrenmatt's first wife dies. One year later he marries Charlotte Kerr, a movie maker, actress and journalist.

Other honors for Friedrich Dürrenmatt include five honorary doctor titles and a price by New York's theater critics.

Friedrich Dürrenmatt had a pessimist view on modern life in general and on justice in particular. He was convinced that a story is finished only when it has changed for the worst possible (which is not foreseeable but comes at random).
